Prior to the establishment of the Law Offices of Thomas Stahl, he was a co-founding partner of Spencer & Stahl, P.C. located in Columbia, Maryland. Throughout his family law career, he has achieved many favorable outcomes for his clients, and built a solid reputation as a seasoned attorney in domestic matters, including, divorce, custody, and child support. He is regularly appointed by the courts in guardianship and trustee cases.
Tom was the Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Timothy J. McCrone of the Circuit Court for Howard County from 2008 until 2009. While serving as Judge McCrone’s law clerk, Tom assisted the Honorable Dennis M. Sweeney (Retired) as a law clerk during Judge Sweeney’s special assignment to the trial of former Baltimore Mayor Sheila Dixon.
As a committed member of the legal community, Tom has served on the Howard County Bar Association (HCBA) as well as the Maryland State Bar Association (MSBA). Because of his service to the legal community, he was awarded the HCBA Service Award in 2013, and the HCBA President’s Award in 2014. Thomas currently serves as the co-chair of the MSBA Rules of Practice Committee.
Tom has been named as a “Super Lawyer” by Maryland Super Lawyers for 2019 and 2020.
