William has been registering trademarks and copyrights for over a decade. He started his career as a Patent Examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office where he was an expert on three-dimensional computer graphics, animation, graphical user interfaces, and image processing. He then joined a patent boutique to do patent clearance searches. Next, William joined another law firm to work on trademark prosecution and litigation. He has filed hundreds of copyright applications and has worked on copyright infringements. Upon moving to Ohio, he joined Frost Brown Todd to work on enforcing trademarks. He founded Lehner Law, LLC in 2020.William has worked on behalf of a major toy manufacturer to protect it’s famous trademark on a doll. He has helped to shut down pornography websites that traded off of the doll’s likeness.William has worked for a major car manufacturer to prevent the importation of counterfeit airbags by registering trademarks with the US. Customs and Border Protection.William has worked for a major retailer to rebrand generic trademarks to look as similar as possible to premium brands.William currently handles trademarks, company formation, and litigation.William graduated from Capital University Law School. He is a member of the International Trademark Association, American Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association, and the Columbus Bar Association.William has fun working on trademarks. When he is not working, he enjoys kayaking and hiking with his dog.
