Kolter is a native Texan who grew up in Arlington, Texas. Kolter comes from a large family being the youngest of seven children. Kolter grew up in an entrepreneurial family and has been surrounded by business from birth. Kolter’s father was an inventor and entrepreneur who started several businesses. Kolter’s father made it a point to invite all of his children to be a part of his companies throughout the years. Kolter’s father and mother instilled a great work ethic in Kolter and taught him that nothing in this life is handed to you and that you must work hard to obtain your goals. Prior to law school Kolter worked with his father and other family members in the family lap desk business.Throughout his career with the family lap desk business, Kolter oversaw all aspects of developing and taking consumer products to market, including regulatory compliance. Kolter also assisted in developing and protecting the family company’s patents, trademarks, and other intellectual property. Kolter’s interest and involvement with the legal aspect of running a business led him to law school. Kolter received his bachelor’s degree in Business Management with an emphasis in Human Resources Management and Organizational Theory from the University of Texas at Arlington. Kolter attended law school at Texas A&M University School of Law. After law school Kolter worked closely with a trial team representing a severely injured man that resulted in a jury verdict that qualified as one of the Top 100 Verdicts in the United States for 2015. Prior to joining the Patterson Law Group, Kolter worked for a well-established firm in Fort Worth, Texas. Kolter joined the Patterson Law Group because he wanted to focus his legal career on helping the injured have their voices heard.Outside of work Kolter loves to spend time with his family. Kolter and his wife are the parents of a beautiful little girl. Kolter and his siblings have carried on the tradition of focusing on family and he is a proud uncle ten times over.
