Personal Quote/motto:
Divorce Attorney NYC

Gordon Diefenbach started the Diefenbach Law Firm, PLLC., after years as a trial lawyer for some of the top litigation firms in New York City, Martin Clearwater & Bell to name just one. His field of expertise is civil litigation since 1986.

A graduate of Cornell University, B.A. in 1983, he then obtained his J.D. from the University at Buffalo, Faculty of Law & Jurisprudence, S.U.N.Y. in 1986. He is admitted to the bar of the State of New York, as well as admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. In 1999, he was sworn in by Chief Justice William Rehnquist to argue cases before the United States Supreme Court.

With over 25 years of courtroom battles as a trial lawyer, Mr. Diefenbach has actively litigated hundreds of cases in New York, as well as New Jersey and Connecticut. In his long career as a trial lawyer, he has made literally thousands of court appearances in civil court throughout the Supreme Courts of New York City’s five boroughs, as well as Nassau County, Suffolk County and Westchester County.

In 1989 he was one of the junior associates who defended New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center against the Andy Warhol estate, which had sued the hospital for the medical malpractice and wrongful death of Andy Warhol during a routine gallbladder surgery at that hospital.

In 2003, on another major case, he was hired to do extensive research and appellate practice for a trial lawyer who had successfully obtained a $55 million verdict against the insurer Lloyd’s of London.

In 2004 he was hired by a trial attorney who successfuly sued the City of New York in a police brutality case, where the latter obtained a jury verdict of $ 50 Million.

Mr. Diefenbach’s knowledge of trial tactics and litigation includes complex civil litigation and appeals in both Federal Courts and New York State Courts. He has significant appellate practice experience as well. Before establishing the Diefenbach, Armstrong Law Firm, he was routinely hired to do other law firm’s trials because of his significant and proven track record. He has been associated with top New York trial lawyers handling malpractice cases that go to trial.
