Pedestrian Accidents in Florida are on the Rise

Because of its warm year-round climate and numerous tourist attractions, Florida has become one of the nation's deadliest states for pedestrians. In 2010, 4,280 pedestrians were killed and another 70,000 were injured in the United States, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). A walker is injured every eight minutes, and a walker is killed every two hours, according to these statistics. Pedestrians hit by automobiles account for 13% of all traffic fatalities. A pedestrian is involved in one out of every four fatal auto accidents.
